Rit/Ranger Build
Any advice on what skills to load etc?
I want to snag a Raven to use with this character and have never played a Rit before. I have finished Prophecies and Eye of the North with my Ranger and my Dervish so not a COMPLETE noob but still not so hot with set up and stuff.
Thank you!

[spirit's strength][splinter weapon][volley][distracting shot] and a preparation is pretty fun...
or if youd rather go with just a rit bar
[mend body and soul][spirit light][ancestor's rage][splinter weapon][protective was kaolai][life][offering of spirit][flesh of my flesh]
just some standard rit stuff.

Which is presumably why none of the skills he's suggested is a preparation.

Anyho, on-topic - [splinter weapon] + [volley], with [distracting shot] because it's awesome.
The rest is up to you, some general resto/channel hybrid bar would work - splinter/volley needs 0 marksmanship, fact.

Maybe something like this?
[Incendiary Arrows] + [Ignite Arrows] + [Splinter Weapon] + [I Am The Strongest]
(Incendiary Arrows are inaccurate above, it's now a bow attack that hits up to 3 nearby targets)

Ritualist-Ranger combo is famous for splinter weapon, mainly:
Splinter Weapon
Volley
Nightmare Weapon
Triple Shot (or Dual Shot if you can't use Luxon/Kurzick skills)
Distracting Shot
Ancestors' Rage
Heal as One {Elite} (or you can give a hero Revive Animal and you can take another elite).
Charm Animal
10 + 1 + 1 Channeling
11 Beast Mastery
10 Marksmanship
For alternative elites consider Ferocious Strike (for a little energy management), Magebane Shot, possibly Spirit's Strength and re-adjust your attributes to use Spawning Power.
An alternative is using Serpent's Quickness along with Attuned was Songkai in order to spam spells....and tag Charm animal onto the end of the skillbar. >.<

I'll just post this question here so I don't have to make another thread k?
For the spirit strength volley build, what do you use for energy? I'd expect to use a zealous bow but does the build run out of energy often?
oh yeah, which has better dps? a barrage + conjure or a spirit strength + volley?

Spirit Strength is armor ignoring. Winner in HM.
But still, the damage is not thaaat great. I prefer Barrage + Splinter Weapon. With 16 Channeling the Splinter Weapon will trigger on 5 shots, making full use of Barrage. And you don't risk being completely useless if your Spirits Strength gets stripped (which happens often enough, even when covered).

ah. thanx megavolti!
I'm just kinda annoyed at volley since its so slow. But is a barrage + splinter better on a Rt/R or an R/Rt? are they just the same?

If you want to focus on firing out more volleys, you might want to consider [Dwarven Stability] and [Serpent's quickness].

I don't think I can use serpent's quickness since the attributes will be too thin. But dwarven stability + drunken master sounds good . I'm happy w/ the Rt/R SS though, pretty strong! It does like 60-100 dmg per volley

Hey so what skills are those?
[volley][dshot][spirit's strength][asuran scan][deathpact signet] but I can't identify the rest. Is that [nightmare weapon]?
can I also know your hero builds? I usually use 2 monks and whatever as the third, so what do you use for healing? just henchies?

[Akhmet's build=OAKkkthhoSqEY4jRuIy2b5MZGYyF]
You're missing [Weapon Of Aggression], ["I am the strongest!"], [Ebon Battle Standard Of Honor].
Depending on the area and the people (or hench) I play with - Racy's Orders dervy is super sweet - but you want other people to run physicals also to get the best out of it. (Orders are also INSANE if you do run an Ether Renewal "monk". The guy then pretty much always has some 4 enchantments on him so casting 10 energy spells is energy management for him since he gains back more energy then he wasted )
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10254869
(That's what Moxy is running.)
I am a fan of rangers also - interrupts + physical damage (they trigger orders) and they are ranged which means that the AI is semi-decent with them. Plus since I am playing a ranger in pretty clothes also () - we get the most out of Favorable Winds that way.
Monks are played by hench. The lack of good physical hench means I can't afford to not run physicals on heroes.

If I am not mistaken the heroes ran this:
[build=OgkjclZsZSPGqGLGybWiWYFHjYA]
and
[build=OgkSc5MTPGqGLGWiFHVgybjY]
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...63&postcount=4
BUT as the link says - I've been running a different build on my ritu at that time but I've been to lazy to modify it after switching to the Bow Ritualist.
Since the guys ran those builds because I was able to pretty much keep Splinter and Warmongers on them (and other people) all the time due to AP.
So now I am thinking of switching out Barrage for Volley and maybe bringing BHA with possibly Epidemic on one of the guys.
And yeah - zealous flatbow. I do have some e-issues on some occasions - but since you are doing quite lovely damage just by auto-attacking - it's doable.
